The book list for Dark Arts came by owl this morning. Whew!
I'll be on my way to Diagon Alley in a bit, with Philip (who doesn't need any books for Dark Arts yet but is very, very excited to be going to Hogwarts this fall). See some of you later...

Date: 2012-08-27 11:14 pm (UTC)I took a chance to ask a question of interest to you, and I suspect others who may bring it up with you where they wouldn't with me. My apologies for not managing it a bit earlier in the day, but we were a bit delayed in our plans this morning.
I've just introduced myself to the new Dark Arts professor via journal, in part to inquire whether he'd a plan in place to handle students whose budgets might not stretch to the rather extensive list. (I had a look at Mr Marvolo's) and doing my best to note that the resources of some students do not stretch as far or as readily as others.
He assures me that he understands the difficulty, and that any student who can't lay hands on a copy due to finances should simply let him know. (He suggests he will not ask why, beyond inquiring whether he should agitate the staff at Flourish and Blotts further over the matter or no.)
If that is of reassurance to you, or to others, please do pass it along as widely as you like. I do get the strong suspicion that he means what he says about translations, and that sharing may be preferable to the wrong one, but I'll see if I can clarify that later this week.
I do hope you're enjoying your last week of holidays, though I admit I'm now very much looking forward to settling into the year.
