So Professor Desai's assignment is to write about both a friend, and someone we don't know well. Ideally someone we don't get on with.

I think you and I should write about each other. I'm sure if Desai checks, she'll hear that we don't get on well (and so we'll both impress her that way). But also, we're both extremely busy and can just give each other a quick analysis of our strengths and weaknesses and not have to waste a lot of time trying to observe someone to do a good writeup about them.

Clever, Perks. Well, I suppose if you're going to write about me I can't very well stop you. It's so interesting that you consider me your bitterest rival. Most people avoid becoming the nemesis of a Councilwitch, but you're not half ready to lay down your life for your mates, aren't you?

Write about whomever you please. It certainly won't help you in Professor Desai's class.

I think of you as my academic rival, not my sworn enemy, but I don't have any sworn enemies that I know of and I don't think you do either so I thought 'academic rival' was the best I was likely to manage. (Unless you're seriously put out about Daphne being Head Girl? But Councilwitch is FAR more impressive.)

I was rather thinking we could trade some information to make things quicker and easier. But if you'd rather not, that's fine.

Oh, and congratulations, by the way. Being Marked while still a student is a rare honour and a truly impressive achievement. I just hope Professor Desai

Thank you. But as a Councilwitch, I prefer not to disclose who I think qualifies as a rival, academic or otherwise.
