Are you working on New Year's Day? I mean for your internship.

If you're free you could come over. My father says he ~~wants a look at~~ wants to meet you.

I've got to work in the morning, but Desai said I can go at noon on Wednesday. I think the most important part of the internship in her opinion is our physical training sessions, and those are first thing. I'm working on a project--or observing, really--with one of the units, but I'm still allowed a half-day on New Year's, so yeah. I could come.

Should I bring something with me? I mean, like a gift for your father for inviting me? Mum'll know, I guess, but I reckon you know what he'd think was nice--or wouldn't.

You could bring something if you wanted, maybe Christmas cookies? Not jam, and not alcohol. It doesn't really matter so long as it's not either of those.

The project I'm assigned to... it's to do with Astra Morgansen.

They're making her rewrite Pure Victory.

It's really terrible. She just sits there and writes and writes, and then they interrupt her and make her read out what she's written, and then they argue with each other about whether it's setting things up properly, and all of them have ideas about what she should do--this kind of scene or a speech by that character or maybe they should have started off by having Amaranth hear a long Proclamation read by some official for Our Lord that would set up something or other that they think should be the Inciting Incident or some rubbish like that.
