So NEWTs start in exactly a week.

I ought to be revising like mad but instead I'm mostly thinking about how little it matters, if I'm not going to be able to get into the Healer Apprenticeship programme no matter how well I do. Dolohov's influence can overcome a lot but I don't think even Dolohov can make them take me when it's an official policy that half-bloods can't even become Licensed Emergency Stabilisation Healing Associates.

I'm pretty sure I can get Es in everything (except for possibly Dark Arts; who even knows how that will work out) without doing any more work than I've already done. What's even the point of working harder?

Yeah. I would have a hard time mustering much interest, if I were you. Or any of you, really.

Sally-Anne,

It might not seem to matter now, what, but don't be discouraged by the present situation. It's all the more reason to prove that despite the state of the world or whatever other priorities may be demanding your attention, you can still excel.

I know you'll all think I'm daft for having done it, what, but I spent most of the weekend in a version of the secret room, revising. I didn't say anything because I didn't want anyone else to feel pressured to join me. I'm well confident I've reviewed anything that might be on the exams.

It may seem ridiculous, what, but we've got to continue as if school and finding jobs and doing well are legitimate concerns. And I think we owe it to those after us to show that it doesn't matter how Voldemort or the Ministry try to stack the deck against us. Our performance can still speak for itself.

That's only my opinion, of course. But if you'd like to revise at all, I'd be happy to work on anything you like.
