It was really lovely to meet both of you, but especially Mrs Ponds, since we've exchanged letters a few times. And Albia is an absolutely delightful baby. I'm going to experiment a little with that charm that's supposed to make things indestructible (it doesn't really, but it makes them at least a little sturdier) on some origami dogs for her to see if those hold up a little longer than five minutes. Waterproofing might help too, for when she puts it in her mouth. She did seem to like it (or at least the noises it made) for as long as it lasted.
And thanks for letting our crowd invade your cafe -- I know a bunch of Hogwarts fifth and fourth years aren't precisely your normal customers. I hope we didn't drive off too many regulars. There are all sorts of 'student clubs' this summer -- the real reason for them is to give some of us an excuse to get away from our families (or foster families) for a bit.
(And maybe the next time I come I'll get to meet the dog? I quite like dogs. How long have you had him?)

Date: 2012-07-27 01:18 am (UTC)Bea would be so pleased to have an origami animal from you. You had her pretty well spell bound while you folded them. You're right, though, that a bit of re-enforcing and waterproofing wouldn't go amiss!
I couldn't help noticing that you're especially good with children. Have you thought at all of going into teaching or caring when you leave school? The other little girl you brought seemed very taken with you, too; it was very sweet.
Actually, the lot of you were very kind to Bea. Mr Marvolo, too, and the other boy, the ginger haired one? But then Bea does like to show off for boys, especially.
And for the dog when he's about.
Funny he wasn't here, but we can never tell. He comes and goes as he pleases, and sometimes he just likes to have a ramble for a few days. So far he's always come back to us, though. We've had him for, what, three years, maybe? It seems forever, and he was full grown when he found us, so we don't properly know how old he is.

Date: 2012-07-27 03:09 am (UTC)I made a couple of origami animals today and I'm just owling all of them. One's a dog, one's a cat, and one's a dragon. We'll see how long they hold up. Gemma -- that's the little girl who came with me, Gemma Stretton -- has also enclosed a gift for Bea. From her collection of stuffed animals (she has quite a few; I think they may be charmed to reproduce when left unobserved, you might want to be sure this one doesn't get left in a dark corner with any other stuffed animals) she chose a knitted kitten that's in bright yellow, because that's the Hufflepuff colour and she heard you were a Hufflepuff so she figures Bea will probably be one someday too.
(Gemma's parents were both Ravenclaws but she wants to be a Hufflepuff. Originally that was because yellow is her favourite colour but now she says she wants to be a Hufflepuff because she believes that things ought to be fair.)
Anyway the kitten's in with the origami.
I do like children but what I really want to be is a Healer. I might not be able to get into the training programme, though, because they don't much care for half-bloods -- you know how it is.
Also, there's this bloke StintIf I don't manage to be a Healer I'll probably look for work as a tutor -- for nannies people most often choosemugglebmudbloods these days because they're so cheap. The Strettons have a girl named Maureen, and of course you have Ellie, does she help you with Bea? But I might be able to find work as a tutor. I'm good with children and I have excellent marks. Pansy says I can always come live with her, so at least I won't be stuck with the Strettons. The ginger haired boy is Ron Weasley, he's a Gryffindor and a good friend of mine. I imagine Bea liked his hair.
I likeI'm sorry I didn't get to meet the dog! I quite like dogs. (I like almost all animals, actually. I have a pet rat but he didn't come with me on Wednesday. Maybe I should bring him next time, he would have LOVED the biscuits.)
