The cruopticon is working!

I found a trace of Terry's blood on the bead he carved for Fred's bookmark. So I've threaded that on and finished the charm. I can't pass it to Fred and George but I can give it to Ron and Ron can bring it back to the Burrow. Ron, I'll leave it behind the statue of the merman with the trident and you can grab it before breakfast tomorrow, that way if one of us gets sent home (are they sending us home? or do we have to stay, even if we failed out? have they said?) you'll have it.

Whew.

Now I have to fix the self-adjusting cauldron and this potions analysing thingie that were also broken, since I told Professor Slughorn I would. I think they had the same tea spilled in them. Anyone want to help me scrub small bits with tiny brushes?

Where are you working on those instruments? I'd actually come help you if it's not in your common room. Wouldn't mind getting out of mine.

I'm in the empty classroom next door to History of Magic. I thought about setting up in the History room but you never know when Binns will pop in.

And thank you! I got a note today from Madam Pomfrey inviting me to come by the Hospital Wing tomorrow night to help with some sort of inventory thing, she said it will be educational and will give me a leg up on the mediwizardry stuff this summer (I think she thinks I'll get in, but maybe she's just being encouraging).

Anyway, I think she's right that I will learn a lot and it might even be interesting. But that's a whole lot of hours I'd thought I could work on these when I will be busy with something else.

I'll be surprised if I do, but at least I'm trying. And we did pretty well with the tasks today. I was good at the ones where you had to think ahead like in chess.

I think the most frustrating thing today was when we were working on the one where we had to guide someone else who was blindfolded by shouting instructions at them, and it was sort of a race. If I'd been working with Pansy (or you! or Neville!) you'd have listened to me. But noooo, I got paired with Mandy Brocklehurst and she probably wouldn't trust me if I told her the sky was blue. And then later, I had a good solution to the Pyramid-building one but Smith didn't want to listen to me -- I mean, we got it done but we were nearly dead last, and if he'd listened to my idea we'd have been first.
