The sodding Lord Protector is coming to Hogwarts tomorrow and staying through the weekend.

Just what all of us needed the weekend before NEWTs, to settle our nerves.

The rumour I heard is that he's coming to scout more prospects for new Death Eaters. Like he did last year with the contest, except this time he's just going to come check people out directly.

The Headmaster told us at supper and everyone tried to look pleased.

If I take off now, they'll think I'm running away because I'm a traitor and the LP would know, and they'll ask you questions, and Pansy, and it'll be far more dangerous and awkward than if I just sit tight and hope for the best.

I know. If I have to run I'll do it, and I hope you'd do the same, just like Draco and Hermione did, and Professor Siz and Madam Pomfrey did.

I'd rather fight, though, which just shows what a terrible influence all you Gryffindors are on me.

I've felt much better since my morning tea. Like, confident that nothing terrible's going to happen. And that Hufflepuff firstie went to pieces at lunch and nothing terrible happened, so I guess I was right?

I'm carrying darkness powder, which is something the Twins make, and this thing that lets me see in the dark (but not anyone else). If any of the rest of you want to carry darkness powder, if you use it, I'll come lead you to safety.

I'm pretty sure Crouch trains blindfolded some of the time, though. So this isn't a guarantee. It depends on the situation.

I can jolly well tell you the elves are going spare. The head elf from the kitchen has been up to see the Headmaster three times already tonight.

I say, I think we might want to hold a Galleon meeting tomorrow after lessons, before he arrives. Harry, we probably ought to send out a message warning everyone to avoid eye contact and control their thoughts while he visits. I mean to say, they know that already, what, but it bears reminding.

'Keep a cool head' if you prefer. The point being to warn them and tell them to help warn other students to school their thoughts in directions that will not get them killed.

Because it's just possible that it will be His pleasure to make me, or Ron or Hydra, do the killing.
