alt_sally_anneI received an owl this morning from Healer Korotkova. Apparently she heard that Hogwarts students had been sent home early and was wondering why I hadn't shown up for work.
So the good news is, she wants me for the internship! The bad news is, apparently I'm already disappointing her with absenteeism. I owled her right back to let her know that unfortunately, as a 'close associate of Draco Malfoy' I have been requested to remain at the school while MLE completes its investigation, but I will certainly come to work as soon as I may.
Do you think -- I don't want to bother you with trivialities at the moment but do you think she'll understand my situation? I don't want her to think I've been detained on suspicion of anything. It's just that I'm in the same House and year. And it's not that Draco and I were ever close, you know, because we are of such very different statuses, but of course he had that relationship with Pansy and I AM close to Pansy. And Daphne, and she's a roommate. And I was sort of friends with Teddy when we were firsties, which wouldn't ordinarily be of any consequence except Teddydoesn't didn't have any real friends as he got older.
Anyway. Also. I'm so sorry for your loss -- both Professor Lestrange, and the Headmistress. I know both of them were close friends of yours. (Corax Mulciber, well, of course it is tragic for the Protectorate to lose one of Our Lord's devoted servants so abruptly. But I know that I will miss Professor Lestrange and the Headmistress quite a bit more.)

Date: 2014-06-11 07:52 pm (UTC)I hadn't been aware that Ekaterina Petrovna had decided to accept you for the summer, but her having decided that you would do and then assuming that of course you would realise she had done so does sound much like her. Congratulations, my dear; I am very pleased on your behalf, and this is a week in which good news is appreciated.
If Ekaterina Petrovna is testy about the delay, you may refer her to me, and of course I will corroborate the difficulties Hogwarts has seen this week.
